What is his diagnosis?
Salar has been diagnosed with a severe form of Scoliosis with Marfan syndrome and needs immediate surgery. Doctors and medical facilities in Iran are not performing the life saving surgery Salar needs because of their inability to handle possible complications he might face. His mother lacks the financial ability to save the life of her only son and has reached out to family abroad for help.
Below is an assessment of Salar’s condition by Dr. Ivan Cheng from Stanford Medical Center after he reviewed Salar’s medical file, including his MRI and X-Rays:
“I just reviewed the films on patient Sohrabi. He has a very severe scoliosis (over 120 degrees) associated with Marfan syndrome. His pulmonary function tests are fairly poor. He is at very high risk for further curve progression and further deterioration of his lung function. Ultimately, he will probably have a significantly shorter lifespan without surgery. He would be a very good candidate for spine surgery...”
Our goal is to raise funds to pay for Salar's medical expenses and his well being.
